BWM Pledges to Plant 1 Tree Per 1MT of Lithium-Ion Batteries Recycled with the National Forest Foundation on Earth Day 2024

Bartlesville, OK – April 22, 2024 – This Earth Day, Blue Whale Materials (BWM) proudly announces its membership in the National Forest Foundation Sapling Program with an exciting commitment to environmental stewardship. BWM pledges to plant one tree in a US National Forest for every metric ton (MT) of Lithium-ion batteries the company recycles.

With an initial processing capacity of 14,000MT per year at its Bartlesville, OK Blacksand™ facility, which will begin commissioning by Q4 2024 and is set to commence operations in Q1 2025, BWM will help the National Forest Foundation and U.S. Forest Service to plant up to 14,000 trees annually. This endeavor not only supports reforestation efforts, but also aids in combating climate change, preserving wildlife habitats, and ensuring the health of watersheds across the nation.

BWM recognizes the importance of corporate social responsibility and remains dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment.  “Joining the National Forest Foundation Sapling Program aligns with our mission to promote sustainability,” said Robert Kang, CEO and Co-Founder of BWM. “Through our commitment to recycling and reforestation, we are taking tangible steps toward a sustainable future for generations to come.”
